Paris, Sept 24, IRNA:

Iran's Ambassador to Paris Ali Ahani on Saturday called on Iranian university students abroad to contribute to Iran's scientific progress and its speedy access to modern scientific and technical achievements of the world.

Ahani, in a meeting with members of Union of Islamic Association of University Students in Europe, assessed as "important" the role of the union in domestic and international developments.

Despite limitation, the union played an influential role on international scene through guidelines of the founder of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, he said.

The envoy added that members of the union, as assets of the Islamic Revolution, shoulder a heavy responsibility, saying they should acquire knowledge, preserve achievements of the Revolution and defend values and efforts of the Iranian nation.
